I'm testing with it disabled, if it doesn't noticeably break any sites
then I'm not particulary bothered about investigating further.
I suspect the iconv implementation is broken in some way - this caused
some problems when I started the port originally, and although those
bugs have since been fixed it wouldn't surprise me if there were more.

Yes, it does:
